Theatre breaks are surprisingly cheap
Here’s an interesting one that I thought you guys might like. This company is offering some really good deals where you combine a theatre ticket and a London hotel for one low price: Top Show and Hotel from £49pp - Best show, seats and Prices BOOK NOW
If you’ve ever been to the West End theatre district in London you already know that theatre tickets are expensive and hotel prices are much worse. This seems like a really good idea to combine the two and save some dosh at the same time.
Simply Travel has some interesting holiday suggestions
If you know where you want to go this is worth a look, but if you aren’t sure where your holiday will be this is a must: Fancy a quality holiday? - Click Here
Simply Travel’s tag line is “Hand picked properties off the beaten track…” and that is really appealing to those of us who’ve had enough holidays to the same usual locations. For example, they currently have some really good offers to Marrakech, Morocco. Have you been there yet? I have and it’s quite amazing, but there are dozens of places on the Simply Travel list that I’ve yet to explore.
Peltours has some great bargains to Egypt right now
Spring is finally here and it’s an excellent time to think about a visit to Egypt. Peltours is helping us out by keeping prices super low again this year: Bargain Holiday Deals
If you haven’t been to Egypt yet, what are you waiting for? The place is absolutely fascinating, the weather is great during the next few months, and it’s super cheap once you get there. Cairo is an amazing place, but only worth a couple days to see the Great Pyrimids of Giza.
Summer is coming and Portland Holidays has some great deals
The fine people at Portland Holidays Direct are always looking out for us by putting together great deals to places we can go and do nothing: Portland Holidays - Click Here!
If you look at the impressive list on their site you see that except for perhaps Egypt this company doesn’t waste a lot of time on the cultural places. Who wants to spend their whole holiday going from one museum to another anyway? Not me. If I want to see a famous painting I look it up on the internet. But if I want to sit on a beach and drink cheap lager all day, I have to do it in person.
Cheap worldwide flights are appealing
With the euro and the pound sterling so high these days we can’t afford not to go to the States. Now it’s cheaper than ever: Save up to 70% of flights with Airline Network
Airline Network is known for having cheap flights, but it seems like they are taking that to the next level with this new batch they are advertising. You can fly to New York starting at £245, which is a great price, but the real fun begins when you get there. You can get a pint of beer for around £2 or so, and cool t-shirts (not the touristy ones) for around £5.
Superbreaks are a few clicks away
I recently wrote about last minute city breaks, but not everyone can get away that quickly so I thought I’d mention another favorite, Superbreaks: Superbreak - Just 3 Clicks To Book
If you have never heard of Superbreak, they organize holidays based on a theme, and they do it at very low prices. There’s one on here for a 3-star hotel at a beach in Majorca for £17 per person. If you head down there on that break you’ll probably be seeing me because I don’t think I can afford NOT to go!
City breaks under 100 quid!
The fine people at lastminute.com have collected some really good deals on city breaks, and they’ve put them all on one page: City breaks from £99
Their Top 10 list includes mostly European cities, but there is also Dubai and New York City. I know regular readers of this column have heard this before, but I highly recommend going to New York if you can. Sure, it’s more than £99 total, but with the exchange rate at the moment you can’t afford not to go! With the euro exchange rate being what it is, you’d have a hard time affording a bed in one of the Amsterdam hostels even if you stowed away on someone else’s comically large suitcase.
For a small deposit now you can save big later
Thomas Cook is running an interesting promotion at the moment that I really felt compelled to pass along: Low Deposit and Save £££’s on Summer 08 holidays only at thomascook.com
Here’s the deal: Choose one of Thomas Cook’s great summer deals now, give them a £25 deposit on the thing, and get a free day added to the trip! If you ask me, this deal might come back to haunt Mr. Cook because this might just eat up all their potential profit, but we’ll leave him to sort that out.
Enough with these cliché holidays!
There have been many requests here lately for something a bit unusual, and don’t say I never did anything for you: Holidays off the Beaten Track
If you want to go to Brighton Beach again then that’s your business. The rest of us are getting off the beaten track and we are going to stretch our wings with something different this summer.
