Hop on over to Spain on Cheap Flights from the UK
No one is quite sure how Spain got its name. One theory is that is from the Punic word tsepan, ‘rabbit’, basing the opinion on the evidence of a coin of Galba, on which Hispania is represented with a rabbit at her feet, and on Strabo, who calls Hispania ‘the land of rabbits’”
I like this theory even if it is disputed. I have never taken a survey but my guess is that must people like rabbits. Unless they get into your garden and eat all your vegetables they are fairly …
Free Flights to Germany
Nothing in life comes free, but Ryaniar comes close to it. Everyone’s favorite cattle car discount airline is offering free flights to Germany from London Standsted. Those free tickets also come with taxes, fees and charges that do not exceed £25.10 and they exclude travel dates that are holidays, school breaks and major sporting events. Like I said, nothing is entirely free.
The airline does fly to Germany’s major cities including Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin, Dusseldorf and Bremen, so assuming you can get your hands on a free ticket you could …
Ryanair Offers Free Flights from London
The clever folks at Ryanair are back at it again, this time offering up to 3 million seats for free on flights from London. Like any offer that sounds too good to be true, this one comes with a few conditions. For one thing, the flights aren’t exactly free. You still have to pay taxes and fees that do not exceed £23.50. That isn’t too bad. Of course, you can’t fly during holidays, school breaks and major sporting events. I’m not too sure how they …
Ryanair’s Free Tickets Sale Nov. 14-16
One of these days I expect Ryanair to advertise that they will pay you to fly on their flights. The king of the low-cost airfares is currently offering up free airline tickets. You need to purchase them online between November 14-16, 2006 and to travel sometime before March 24 with the usual blackout periods in play. They also claim that fares are exclusive of taxes fees & charges which do not exceed £12.70. If this is indeed true, the tickets aren’t free but they are pretty darn cheap.
Anyone …
Ryanair’s Cheapest Flights for 50% Off
I don’t have much love for Ryanair and the way they heard you into their airplanes, but sometimes a little discomfort is worth it if you are able to save a significant amount of money. This is one of those times. From now until October 19, 2006, Ryanair is offering up its cheapest fares for half off. You can fly from Liverpool to Rome for 4 pounds plus taxes. That is simply sick.
This deal is only for travel between October 30 and March 24, 2007, on Mondays to …
Ryanair will make your Malta Dreams a Reality
If you grew up dreaming about some day having the opportunity to visit a place like Malta, your dreams have finally come true. Ryanair, the 1,000 pound gorilla of cheap tickets, has expanded its service to the island nation. For next to nothing, you can fly from London, Dublin or Pisa to Malta. How cool is that! Very cool indeed. Your childhood dreams have become a reality and you no longer have to worry about an acne breakout before the big school dance. Life is certainly …
4 Million Free Seats and One has your Name on it
While I would never go out of my way to recommend Ryanair as a fun flying experience, sometimes the cheap airline carrier does have deals that make the pain of being crammed into their planes worth it.
This is one of them.
You can get a free ticket if you book before September 11. There are all sorts of terms and conditions, but you can’t beat free.
Guide to Budget Carriers
Each week at CTL-EU, we plan on profiling a budget airline. With all the no-frills airlines jettisoning around Europe, how’s a traveler to know which one provides the best deal, who has the availability or *gulp* who’s about to go under? That’s why we’re here - to help you navigate.
We’ll be honest - we haven’t traveled on all the budget airlines in Europe (they’re popping up like weeds, we tell ya!). That’s why we need some help. Although the big daddies are covered (Ryan Air, easyJet and the like), we’d love some feedback regarding any of …
Frills Versus No-Frills Airlines
So, besides a little bit of leg room, maybe a ‘free’ soft drink or two and the prices, what are the differences between a European budget airline and the big dawgs of international travel like British Airways, Luftansa and the like? We’ve noticed a few major differences:
Room: Cattle class takes on a whole new meaning on budget airlines. Expect as little room as possible - even less that you’re used to on the old players.
Restrictions: No-frills means no changes. Miss your flight? Too bad, buy another seat. Can’t make it through security 30 …
