Belly Up to the Liseberg Ice Gallery & Bar
You’ve frequented many dive bars. You’ve had a pint or three in a smoky pub. You’ve gone to the nightclubs where all the pretty people are seen. You’ve consumed mass quantities of unknown foofy drinks with little unbrellas while sitting near palm trees and turning your skin into an unnatural shade of pink. Your drinking experiences are almost complete, but you are missing one critical element: a drink in a bar made entirely of ice.
That is exactly what you’ll find at the amusement park in Liseberg, Sweden. Here is a description of the bone chilling bar:
Last year’s coolest new addition was Liseberg Ice Gallery & Bar, made entirely out of beautiful shimmering blue ice. Liseberg Ice Gallery & Bar was presented in cooperation with Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi and was the only one of its kind in southern Sweden. All of the interior furnishings, including the drinking glasses, were made of ice. The ice was gathered from the Torne River and was stored over the last summer before being transported to Göteborg. A fascinating experience that won’t melt away quickly!
As luck would have it, Lufthansa is offering a sale on flights to Gothenburg. Unfortunately the airplane is not made of ice, but I would imagine that if you drink too much at the Ice Bar and you pass out, you’ll likely never want to see ice ever again.
