If you are anything like me you assumed these holiday villa rentals were only for the rich, but when you look at the prices on villas that you can reserve early you see that the price is sometimes even less than normal hotels. The best savings come when you travel with either a family or a group of friends, as many of these places can comfortably sleep a dozen or more people all at a price you’d expect to pay for a nice hotel room for one couple.
Some people I know are considering a bit of New Zealand travel because they hear families can rent a campervan for very little there. Another group of my friends recently bought airline tickets to India because once you get there hotels can be found for well under €10 per night outside the major cities. If these people only knew you could book a whole villa on the beach somewhere in France for the same price, I have a feeling they’d be your neighbors there instead of yet another group of people on a misguided attempt to save money.
