Borneo Encompassed Adventure Trip
A few years back I was in a used bookstore in London when I happened upon a weathered copy of Eric Hansen’s Stranger in the Forest: On Foot Across Borneo. It has all the elements of a great travel story. An impossible adventure, a narrator prone to attracting trouble and a look at a society which most of us will never experience for ourselves.
Since reading that book, I have maintained an interest in Borneo and watched the island evolve from afar. It is an island that remains an unknown mystery to many of us, while also suffering from the increasing encroachment of an outside world hungry for its plentiful resources. It has also become a pretty cool little adventure vacation spot and continues to develop in terms of Eco Travel opportunities.
The Borneo Encompassed tour is a 15-day adventure that will give you the opportunity to experience the true Borneo without having to endure the hardships experienced by Hansen when he walked through the jungle and across the island. The tour does take you into the jungle, while offering ample opportunity to see the island’s one-of-a-kind wildlife and to meet the people who make the place so very special.
