Their Top 10 list includes mostly European cities, but there is also Dubai and New York City. I know regular readers of this column have heard this before, but I highly recommend going to New York if you can. Sure, it’s more than £99 total, but with the exchange rate at the moment you can’t afford not to go! With the euro exchange rate being what it is, you’d have a hard time affording a bed in one of the Amsterdam hostels even if you stowed away on someone else’s comically large suitcase.
New York City is expensive for Americans, but it’s very cheap right now for Europeans. Manhattan is now filled with a whole bunch of H&Ms and other discount chains, and clothes there are practically free for us at the moment. And there is none of that annoying sales tax on clothes in New York City as long as they are under $100.
So join the herd by bringing an empty suitcase with you to New York City because you can fill it up with fashions and souvenirs for next to nothing.
