thaicoup.jpgI’ve got a mate who lives in Bangkok who has been sending me regular updates about the coup taking place in the country. Most of his messages have titles to the effect of “What happens if there is a coup in the forest and no one is there to see it?” According to most reports, Thailand’s coup has been largely[1] a quiet and thankfully peaceful one.

The one good thing to come out of the situation is that the headlines might scare away some less intrepid travelers who are afraid to go to a country with a bit of political instability. Their loss is your gain as you can bet your bottom dollar that Thailand’s tourism infrastructure will be yearning for your patronage.

Thai Airlines has a good enough deal on [2] flights from London that you might want to consider checking out the situation in Thailand for youself.
