Rome is the home of many things, chief among them modern sayings. When in Rome, do as the Romans do….all roads lead to Rome…I’d give my right arm…tying the knot…we’re just taking it one game at a time.
Ok, that last one might not have had anything to do with Rome or its football teams, but the long history of the city has bequeathed the world with a number of familiar expressions and customs. The Roman Empire might have died centuries ago, but its impact lives on all over the world today.
Rome is truly a wonder and it is a must-see for anyone who calls herself a world traveler. The blend of ancient sites, modern madness and all around good times is the reason why Italy’s largest city attracts millions of visitors each year. While Rome is not quite the bargain it used to be, you can still have a quality visit without having to spend a pretty penny (non-Roman expression).
