Enough with these cliché holidays!

Greek housesThere have been many requests here lately for something a bit unusual, and don’t say I never did anything for you: Holidays off the Beaten Track

If you want to go to Brighton Beach again then that’s your business. The rest of us are getting off the beaten track and we are going to stretch our wings with something different this summer.

The fine people at Simply Travel have lined up their best deals on unusual destinations and have put them all on one page. Okay, it’s more than one page, but once you get to the first page it’s pretty easy to navigate your way around. On the first page you’ll find an outstanding offer for a Greece holiday, and the photo looks exactly like Fidel Castro. How’s that for unusual? Other people go to Greece to see typical holiday-makers, but we’ll go there to see a guy who looks just like El Comandante.

Oh, and in spite of what I wrote earlier about Simply Travel, it turns out they are not affiliated with Simply Red. I’d assumed that Mick Hucknall and the boys had used all their experience on the road to set up this cool travel company, but according to their lawyers that’s not the case after all. I think they are missing an opportunity by not being involved here, but it might be more complicated than it seems. Who knows?
