Okay, that thing just says Special Offers, but I can now reveal that one of their offers has flights at £354 from Heathrow to New York City, and from £388 all the way to Los Angeles! So you get cheap airfare on a good airline, and once you arrive everything is super cheap. You can rent cars in Los Angeles for under £100 per week, and petrol is still much less expensive over there too.
I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Los Angeles, and I highly recommend it for anyone. You might consider staying in the Surf City Hostel in Hermosa Beach because it’s literally right on the beach and also within a short walk of about 15 different bars that are really fun. With the happy hour drink prices, things will stay cheap, and when people there year your “accent” they’ll be buying you more drinks than you could possibly want. Americans are not always the brightest people, so we owe it to them to show up once in a while to make them think about some of these things a bit more carefully.
