Each travel company seems to approach this from a different angle, and lastminute.com chooses to offer 5-star hotels in the best destinations for 3-star prices. That really works for me, especially since it means you can book a 5-star resort in Spain including airfare from London starting at £329 per person, or a similar resort on Cyprus starting for only £10 more. Normally when I walk into any 5-star resort anywhere they alert security pretty much right away, so it would be great to actually have a room at one of them. Take that, overzealous security people!
This should really appeal to my fellow cheapskates out there. Cheap travel doesn’t always have to be about finding the absolute lowest price for anything, and sometimes it’s nice to actually splurge to see how the other half lives. I’d normally just book myself into a cheap Paris hostel, but if you look around a bit you can often find nicer hotels for only a bit more. Have you ever tried to sleep in a hostel anyway? With all that noise of people yelling about other people snoring, I usually can’t get good rest anyway, especially with my loud snoring to also contend with.
