If you haven’t been to Egypt yet, what are you waiting for? The place is absolutely fascinating, the weather is great during the next few months, and it’s super cheap once you get there. Cairo is an amazing place, but only worth a couple days to see the Great Pyrimids of Giza.
After you’ve seen those and the museum it’s time to head down to Luxor for a look at the ruins there and a cruise back up the Nile, or you can just head to a Red Sea resort and forget everything else. You can afford a 5-star place on the Red Sea for a bit more than you’d pay for a hostel in Paris, so treat yourself a bit better this year.
You can also go to the UAE to see most of the world’s construction cranes and some of the most amazing new buildings in the world. It’s not quite as cheap as the Red Sea resorts in Egypt, but still more affordable than going to Dublin again. It’s up to you, but I vote for Egypt this year.
