Rocky Mountains Skiing

The Rocky Mountains are just that: rocky. They are also treey, largey and pretty The fortunate thing for skiers is that large portions of the North American mountain chain receive a hearty amount of snow each winter. The dry champagne powder will make you forget that you are skiing on a pile of rocks and make you forget about skiing anywhere else in the world. The snow is that tasty.
Skiing in the Rockies is an experience unto itself. There are still small ski towns that hardly cost anything to stay at and where the ski runs are all yours for the taking. And then there are places like Aspen which will run you a small fortune to stay at but whose skiing is so supremely excellent that you will be willing to ignore that you are doing it with half of the world’s population.
Whichever route you take, a ski holiday in the Rockies can be a delight. The scenery is first-class with a uniquely American hospitality to match. The ski season can last well into spring and some of the best times to go are when the sun is shining and the weather is warm. Lufthansa has some specials for [1] flights to Colorado before the snow melts off and the Rocky Mountains live up to their name once again.
