The May bank holiday should be fun and cheap for us now

TreviThe upcoming bank holiday late in May should provide nearly perfect weather for a fun break, and Thomas Cook is helping out as well by offering packages starting at only £129: Flight and Hotel breaks starting from £129 only at thomascook.com

I know that Thomas Cook isn’t the first place you think of when you are looking for the cheapest possible city break, but their size does give them bargaining power and they do have some really good bargains mixed in their offerings. You can go to Dublin or Amsterdam for a pretty modest price, and several other more remote cities for just a bit more.

People in the UK are always looking for good prices on flights to Europe, and these packages can give you that combined with a cheap hotel as well. Rome airfare can seem expensive on its own, but with these things you end up getting a hotel room for not much more. You’ll have plenty of extra money for wine and those knock-off designer purses they sell all over Italy. How can those vendors sell €900 purses for less than €30? I assume it’s because they buy in bulk, and pass the savings along to the consumer, but to be honest I’m not really sure.
