A Weekend Break in New York

By Bob   |   January 17th, 2007

iloveny.jpgForget the talk about a New York minute. New York is best seen and best experienced over a long weekend. Anything shorter than that and you are likely to miss out on something cool. Anything longer than that and you are likely to be worn down by the non-stop hustle and bustle. Take three or four days max and you will have the trip of a lifetime.

There are, of course, the famous sites like the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, but in my opinion the essence of New York is on its streets. Walk down Fifth Avenue and you will be swept away by the shopping crowds and the endless stream of people who had to be where they are heading 10 minutes ago. Wander the streets in Soho and take in the artists whose very appearance is a form of art itself. Stroll through Central Park and marvel at the subtle features that make it one of the world’s best urban landscapes. When you are tired, head to a side street and pick up a slice of pizza that will melt in your mouth.

Indeed, New York is a wonderful place to spend a weekend and you can do so without spending a bundle. Opodo has an excellent deal on weekend breaks in New York that won’t break your bank.
