Whenever I take a transatlantic flight, I inevitably have a drooling grandmother on one side of me and a weary businessperson on the other. While getting drooled on by anyone other than your dog is not my idea of the ideal way of spending 7 hours, I actually feel more compassion for the business traveler who has to spend a good portion of his or her life on an airplane. It is especially tough when their company doesn’t spring for tickets in business class.
The good news for those of you who travel from England to the United States is that the airlines are currently is a bit of a price war when it comes to business class travel. The current hot deal is a business class ticket from London to New York for 799 pounds. At that price I think you can reasonably talk your boss into letting you fly in business class. Think of all of the money you’ll save on dry cleaning. Getting drool out of one’s suits doesn’t come cheap these days.
