Grab your Genitalia; It’s Time to Head to Rome

bull_balls.jpgYou probably know a thing or two about Rome, Italy, but here are a few odd facts you might not know:

  • The ladies of old Rome customarily put perfumed swan’s fat in their bathtubs filled with donkey milk.
  • It was the custom in Ancient Rome for the men to place their right hand on their testicles when taking an oath. The modern term ‘testimony’ is derived from this tradition.
  • The Ancient city of Rome at one time boasted 2 million residents. But Rome was also the first modern city to reach a population of 1 million.
  • You can fly to Rome on Jet2 airlines for about the price of a cup of coffee. I swear on my own testicles this is true.

Now that you know everything you need to know about Italy’s capital, it is time to book one of those cheapo flights and head on over to Italy. But wait, where should you stay and what should you do and what should you see?

These are all valid questions that can be answered if you visit the Rome hostels site and if you take a gander at the Italy Travel Guide.

Why did those men swear on their testicles?

The only way to find out is to go to Rome and ask around.
