It’s Not Too Early to Book Your Oktoberfest Vacation

By Cristina   |   July 27th, 2010

Oktoberfest is one of the most popular events in the entire world. Beer lovers from all over the world make their way to Munich each year. In 2010 Oktoberfest lasts from September 18 to October 4.

And although there’s still a lot of time until the event, it’s never too early to look for Oktoberfest travel deals . As it happens with all major events, everyone tries to grab the best prices possible so the hunt for flights and accommodation is on very early.

Flights to Germany are plentiful especially if you are already in Europe. A host of low-cost carriers fly to different German cities, including Munich. And many of them have special deals available each week.

Likewise, it’s a good idea to look for hotels in Germany ahead of time. Of course, it’s harder to find rooms and beds available in hostels and budget hotels. Because those are the first to fill up … very quickly.

You probably want to know the price tag for such a vacation. If you plan to fly from London and spend a week in September in Munich, expect to pay from €110 for a round trip flight – unless you manage to find a deal – and from €160 for 6-nights accommodation in a 3-star hotel. A bed in a shared room in a hostel starts at €32.50 per night for the same period. Of course, you need to factor all the beer you’ll be having and the food to go with it.
