Watch the World Cup Matches in the Country Where Modern Football was Born

By Cristina   |   March 9th, 2010

watching footballThe modern football as we know and play it today was codified in England back in the mid 1800s. The passion for football grew over the years and spread all over the world. Now, football is a way of life in Latin American countries, a joy for the fans in Europe and is getting discovered even by North Americans (soccer, anyone?).

For the football fans, there’s nothing better than heading to the heart of the action to watch the matches; and that would be South Africa this summer. But, if that’s not possible, you can always plan to watch the matches in England. The atmosphere in pubs is excellent and you are guaranteed a fun time.

Buy your World Cup jersey ahead of time and make sure to pack it along with your vacation attire. If you want to celebrate the game, you have to do it the right way. And that means, getting a Brazil jersey for your best friend who is tagging along and don’t forget to pack the England away jersey as well. After all, there are plenty of matches to watch and you cannot wear the same thing each night, right?

More and more ladies are getting interested in the game – coming from a lady, I can guarantee it’s all about those handsome players! So, ladies, get your girl friends together and plan a vacation in England during the World Cup. Bonus points if you are single and want to have a bit of fun. Hey, one of the guys might even lend you one of those lovely jerseys!

Joking aside, regardless of what your plans for the night include, remember not to drink too much because things get messy when you are not aware of the surroundings. And, as we know it, watching a game of football always involves a lot of beer.
