Hostels Guide with BootsnAll

Chiang Dao NestBook your bed

Chiang Dao Nest Mini-Resort is situated in a very beautiful, peaceful, mountainous area, 1.5km from the famous Chiang Dao Caves. It comprises six comfortably furnished bamboo bungalows, all with amazing mountain views. Separate toilet / hot shower facilities are decorated to the highest Western standards of design and hygiene. Each bungalow sleeps two people.

Chiang Dao Nest Mini-Resort opened on November 8th 2002 under Thai and English management. Wicha Cavaliero (Thai) is a professional chef, who trained for three years in England, working and training in a number of quality fusion restaurants. Stuart Cavaliero (English) has a background in retail management and more recently internet work.

Chiang Dao Nest Mini-Resort restaurant has a different menu every night. Wicha, our chef uses local produce, in season, from hilltribe farmers around Chiang Dao to create fusion dishes, a mixture of Thai delicacies and European cuisine, the quality of which is normally reserved for five star hotel dining. Vegetarians are catered for. We also offer a good selection of wines.

We can arrange tours of the area. Elephant camps and bamboo rafting opportunities are nearby, which we can also arrange. Other activities available locally include cycling, hiking, nature, temples, caves and just simply relaxing. Chiang Dao is increasingly becoming recognised as an important birding area. It plays host to over 300 species. Chiang Dao Nest is situated in the middle of a good birding area. We can arrange travel to other nearby birding spots, too.

Chiang Dao Nest Trekking, in conjunction with a local guide, offers a different sort of nature trek. It is unusual as it is not focused on hilltribes, elephants or rafting, but it does scale the peak of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, at 2245m Thailand’s third highest mountain. Aimed at people who enjoy a challenge!

We aim to attract people who enjoy a quiet place, off the beaten track and surrounded by nature. They will be happy with simple, clean, comfortable accommodation but will enjoy and value good food.

Check availability at Chiang Dao Nest.
