The Steps Barrington River Backpackers is a 44-acre property situated on the beautiful Barrington River, 3 ˝ hours drive north of Sydney.
Surrounded by Australian bush, with kangaroos grazing at our doorstep, the hostel offers a unique Australian adventure experience.
The accommodation is in a very large country homestead, high atop the main ridge giving sweeping 270 degree views of the river below. You can wake to the sounds of king parrots or the splashing of platypus, under the watchful gaze of grazing kangaroos.
A huge country homestead is converted into our hostel. Wilderness in comfort! Sleeping up to 20 in modern bunk beds, this large building is air conditioned throughout, has central heating and wood heater, a full sized pool room, satellite TV and a large under cover outdoor BBQ area.
The Barrington River is on 3 sides, offering fantastic swimming, kayaking, tubing and fishing. Being at the foot of the world heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park we have an unlimited range of bushwalks, horse rides, mountain bike trails and scenic drives.
