The Altamont Hotel is a 5-star boutique hotel now offering accomodation for backpackers for just $20 per night, right in the heart of Darlinghurst's cafe and bar district.
Modeled on the first Government House the original building was built in 1830 and was one of a handful of private mansions constructed at that time.
Recently renovated by award winning architect Furio Valich the original Colonial Georgian mansion has been preserved where possible whilst giving the whole building a post modernist edge. No boring corridors here.
