Dominica's Guesthouse
Calibishie, Dominica, Caribbean

Hostels Guide with BootsnAll

Dominica's GuesthouseBook your bed

On your Caribbean holiday, you have two choices: you can go to a lush tourist resort, pay high prices, fight the crowds, get a tan, and never actually see the real Caribbean, or you can go somewhere a little more remote.

You can go somewhere untainted by the outside world; a place where natural flora and fauna meet the sea in total tranquility. An island where you can truly experience what it’s like to get away from it all. Thankfully, you can now take that second option without leaving behind all the comforts of life.

Dominica's Guesthouse sits 100 feet above the beautiful village of Calibishie, Dominica, on the Calibishie Ridge. Each of the three units is newly constructed and features four rooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and bathrooms.

Each fully furnished unit features a rear balcony off the bedroom which overlooks the banana and coconut fields. The front verandah overlooks the village itself, the breathtaking beaches of Calibishie Cove, the nearby islands of Guadeloupe and Marie Galante, the natural rock formations known as Hells Gate, and the Morne Aux Diables high mountains, bringing the best of the island directly to you.

Domcans Café, located right on the beach at the foot of the ridge, has been serving the finest local and North American cuisine at its restaurant and bar since 1997. But the new Dominica Guesthouse turns this small NE corner of the island, just 15 miles away from Melville airport, into a tropical paradise for tourists looking for a little bit of home, with a whole lot of what you just can’t find at home – tranquility.

While it’s true that the Caribbean sometimes falls victim to the elements, the large coral reef of the Calibishie Cove protects this part of the Caribbean from high seas during the worst of the seasons, yet also provides excellent diving, swimming, whale watching and sightseeing facilities for the 350 days a year when the weather is absolutely perfect.

Dominica is widely known as the Nature Island of the Caribbean, with stunning lava rock formations, 20 waterfalls, 360 rivers, three national parks, hiking trails that will take your breath away, and local people who will happily show you all the best spots. The beauty that you’ll see in Dominica is the kind of unspoiled natural wonder that you can’t find anywhere else – including the major tourist destinations of the Caribbean.

We provide free transportation to and from the restaurant, and we’re happy to advise you on the best way to get to our magic corner of the world, to stray from the path that so many others have worn. Visit a place that will make you sorry to return home; your stay will be one that will be fondly remembered for decades to come.
