Hotel Astur Plaza – Book your bed
We would like to present to you our hotel Astur Plaza opened in March 1998 which is situated in the centre of Astorga (León, Spain). Astorga is an ancient Roman town, the commercial centre of the region "La Maragatería" and a must on the way to the "Camino de Santiago" and "La Vía de la Plata".
The Vía de la Plata, Camino de Santiago, the motorway N-VI (Madrid-Coruña), N-120 (Camino de Santiago) and dual carriageway of the Camino de Santiago come together in Astorga.
The hotel is located in a pedestrian area, the “Plaza del Ayuntamiento” (Town Hall Square) next to the town hall and only five minutes far away from Gaudi´s great works of art: the Cathedral and the Palace Episcopal.
The Astur Plaza has 37 very comfortable rooms. There are five junior suites which consist of a big living room, bed and bathroom.
All rooms are equipped with a mini-bar, telephone, satellite TV, bathroom with hair-dryer, air-conditioning, heating, safe and key-cards. The hotel has also a private car park with direct access to the rooms and reception.
There’s a chat room called “Patio de Cristal” and an assembly or dance hall with a capacity of about 400 guests.
The restaurant "El César" is well-known for its creative cookery, in the tavern "Los Hornos". However, you will find traditional Spanish food with a great variety of wines.
The traveller in Astorga can explore a lot of different ways. That’s a good way to get to know the typical gastronomy from high quality as e.g. the "cocido maragato" (Spanish stew) and sweets like e.g. the famous "mantecadas", "hojaldres" and chocolate.
