Opened September 2002, 500 metres from town centre, nestled amongst magnificent native bush, and only a stone throw from park and waters edge. The backpackers lodge has a large designer kitchen, TV lounge with SKY TV and video, 24hrs internet, coinphone, fireplace and laundry. All rooms open out onto large covered decks. Relax in the heated swimming pool and spa pool, or enjoy a "kiwi-style" BBQ with all the trimmings. An on-site licenced bar also allows guests to meet and socialise with fellow travellers over a few drinks. For those who wish to explore a bit further our own historic gold mines are full of glow-worms and other "interesting" creatures.
