City Garden Lodge Backpackers haven has the city’s finest restaurants, cafes and upmarket shopping all within easy walking distance. We are next door to New Zealand’s largest city park with its museum and twice daily Maori concert party performances.
Originally built for the Queen of Tonga as her embassy, the lodge is surrounded by trees and lawns with birdlife galore. We offer a clean, cosy and quiet atmosphere to relax and plan the next part of your journey, a base to explore Auckland and its surrounds or just chill until its time to catch the plane home or to the next country. We can arrange transport to and from the airport for a minimum cost.
We are close to the Link bus route taking you to the city in 10 minutes. We know New Zealand and give advice on the secret places that will make your trip something to remember.
