- When it comes to travel accommodation (but leaving out crashing with friends, family or people you meet on the road), how often do you stay in hostels?
Sometimes a hostel, sometimes a hotel or B&B, etc
- Where have you hosteled?
Australia, USA
- Would you stay in a hostel again on future trips?
Yes
- Why or why not?
When we are young, the funniest part of the trip is meeting new people and in my point of view, staying in a hostel is the best way to make new friends.
- Out of all your experiences hosteling, what was your:
- Best Moment
When hosteling in Australia, all hostels I stayed in were great and had cool people.
- Worst Moment
Hosteling in New York. Instead of fun and young people the YMCA was full of homeless people, and it was not fun at all. That was when I decided to go to a cheap hotel.
- Biggest Hurdle, Obstacle or Difficulty?
Sharing the bathroom in small hostels in Australia.
- Biggest surprise?
The good service in some hostels.
- Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
Sometimes
- Why or why not?
Depends on the kind of trip and if I'm going with a friend or not.
- Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?
I met lots of nice people. It's really hard to name only one...
- Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
To meet new people.
- What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
That hostels are dirty.
- Why do you like to travel?
Because I love to travel to different places, meet new people from different cultures, styles...
- What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
Before traveling to a new country, search the internet for information about hosteling options so you will not feel lost with nowhere to go when arriving.
